INTRODUCTION
Rural Physical Planning Division(RPPD) consists of two regional offices (Eastern and Western), a Soil Survey/Land Classification Unit which includes the Soil, Plant, Tissue and Water Laboratory and a GIS and Mapping Unit. The Eastern Regional Office,which is situated in Kingston, serves the parishes of Kingston and St. Andrew, St.Catherine, Clarendon, Manchester, St. Ann, St. Thomas, Portland, and St. Mary. The Western Regional Office serves the parishes of St. James, St. Elizabeth, Hanover, Westmoreland and Trelawny.
A Director manages the overall operations of the RPPD, whereas the Regional Rural Planners are responsible for coordinating the technical activities of each of the regions.

The RPPD is located at 191 Old Hope Road, next to Jamaica College. Other organisations are also located on the premises. These are the National Irrigation Council(NIC), Land Information Council of Jamaica(LICJ) and RADA Agri Mart. The Eastern Regional Unit consists of the Soil, Water and Tissue Laboratory, Soil Survey Unit, GIS and Mapping Unit and the Administrative Offices. The Western Regional Unit, which is located in Montego Bay consist of the offices for the Regional Planner, secretary and Cartographer. Together, both seek to provide stellar service to our major stakeholders and the public in general for sustainable management of our nation's lands and soils.
